“Ubercross” has been my designation for self-published crosswords.
The Ubercross Fiddy is, to my knowledge, the world’s largest “American-style” crossword, following the rules that bind 99% of all crosswords published in American newspapers. Find it here.
The Ubercross Alpha is a 309×309 design, which to my knowledge is the largest crossword design, period. It’s currently being offered to Hammacher Schlemmer, whose “World’s Largest Crossword Puzzle” is a mere 303×303.
The Ubercross Blog is right here. This site has ceased updating, but it has 57 crosswords for your amusement! Check ‘em out in the archives, below.

Here’s a themeless for you (or “Freestyle,” as Matt Ginsberg prefers to call it– sorry, Matt, but I doubt that’ll catch on): online and PDF.
[Edit: Here's where the announcement that this site would cease updating originally went.]
It’s time for a shift in how this site conducts itself, and that means a day off from normal activities while I assess. Rather than leave you puzzleless today, I’ll take this opportunity to recommend Matt Ginsberg’s Crossword Contest, one of the consistently cleverest crossword sites I’ve found, as well as the brilliant explorer Brendan Emmett Quigley (whom veteran users will realize that I’ve recommended before).
This puzzle was begun with several solvers’ supervision, thanks to the power of live online broadcast. (It got changed significantly between that version and this one.)
